Howlite: An Insightful Overview

What is it?
Howlite is a borate mineral found in Canada and certain regions of the USA. It typically forms as irregular nodules that can resemble a cauliflower head. Due to its porous nature, Howlite can be dyed to imitate stones with similar colors, such as turquoise, coral, and lapis lazuli.

History
The mineral is named after Henry How, who discovered it in Nova Scotia in 1868. Henry How was a prominent Canadian chemist, geologist, and mineralogist.

Metaphysical Properties
Howlite is thought to open and prepare the mind to absorb energies and wisdom. It is considered an excellent stone for alleviating anxiety, tension, and stress.

Howlite is said to radiate peaceful energy, which can help with insomnia, stress relief, and emotional balance. Howlite is said to still the mind, making it a useful aid for meditation.

Spiritual growth

Howlite is said to help generate ambitions, prepare the mind to accept wisdom, and increase awareness.

Dyed jade is natural jadeite or nephrite that has been enhanced with artificial coloring to create vivid hues beyond those found in untreated jade, offering uniform color and wider design possibilities.

Jade has held cultural significance for thousands of years in China, Mesoamerica, and New Zealand.

Metaphysically, dyed jade is believed to retain jade’s traditional associations with protection, harmony, and balance, while also carrying the energy of its enhanced color.
